Effective date: October 31, 2026
Payoff IQ is independently developed and maintained by an individual developer. It is not owned, operated, or affiliated with a company. This policy explains what information the Payoff IQ mobile app uses, where it goes, and the choices available to you.
Information you choose to provide
- Liability and repayment information: loan or account names and types, balances, original amounts, interest rates, payment amounts, due dates, repayment schedules, recorded payment details, and schedule preferences that you enter.
- App settings: preferences such as currency, appearance, repayment strategy, and any financial planning values you choose to enter.
- Google sign-in information: when you sign in, Firebase Authentication receives account information made available by Google, such as your Google account identifier, name, and email address. Payoff IQ uses this to authenticate you and associate your cloud data with your account.
- AI liability prompt: if you use AI-assisted entry, the text you submit is sent to Payoff IQ's Firebase function and forwarded to the OpenAI API to produce a structured draft. The draft is returned to the app for you to review and edit. Do not include passwords, full account numbers, or other details that are not needed to describe a liability.
- Voice input: if you dictate a prompt, the device's speech recognition service processes audio to produce text. That recognized text is put in the prompt field; it is sent for AI drafting only if you submit the prompt.
Where information is stored
Payoff IQ stores your portfolio in a local database on your device. If you sign in, the app also backs up liability and preference data to your own user area in Google Firebase Cloud Firestore. Cloud data is protected by account-based access rules. Signing out stops the app from using your signed-in cloud account, but does not itself delete data already stored there.
The app's Firebase Firestore database and AI callable function are configured in the asia-south1 region. Firebase Authentication and other Google services may process information in other locations, including the United States, as described in Google's service information.
CSV and PDF reports are created on your device. If you choose to share or save an export, the destination you select receives that file; exports may contain sensitive financial information.
How information is used
Information is used to provide liability tracking, repayment calculations, charts and insights, cloud backup and restoration, and AI-assisted form drafting. Payoff IQ does not initiate payments or connect to lenders to move money.
Service providers
Payoff IQ relies on third-party services to provide features:
- Google Firebase Authentication for Google sign-in, and Firebase Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions for optional backup and AI requests.
- OpenAI's API to process the liability prompt and return a draft when you request AI-assisted entry.
- Your device or operating-system speech recognition provider if you use voice input.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Review the Firebase privacy and security information, Google Privacy Policy, and OpenAI API data controls.
Retention and deletion
Information stored locally remains on your device until you remove it or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app does not delete cloud data. You can remove individual liabilities in the app. To request deletion of your Firebase cloud data or account-related data, email nexche@gmail.com from the Google account associated with Payoff IQ and identify the account for deletion. Do not email financial account numbers. Some provider or backup copies may persist for a limited period under the provider's normal deletion cycle or where retention is required by law.
Security
Firebase services use security controls such as encryption in transit and access rules. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your device and Google account protected, and avoid including unnecessary sensitive details in AI prompts or exported files.
Your choices
- You can use the app without signing in; cloud backup and AI drafting require sign-in.
- You can sign out in Settings. Your existing cloud copy remains until it is deleted.
- You can avoid AI and voice entry and enter liability details manually.
- You can delete liabilities in the app or request cloud-data deletion by email.
Children
Payoff IQ is a personal-finance planning app and is not designed for children. The developer does not knowingly seek personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app's features or data practices change. The current version and its effective date will be published with the app or on its official listing.
